In emerging urban markets across West Africa, the informal home maintenance and artisan sector (plumbing, electrical repairs, HVAC servicing, carpentry, masonry) has historically suffered from acute trust deficits and fragmented operations:

The Informal Trust & Safety Barrier: Homeowners and businesses struggle to find vetted, reliable technicians. Traditional classifieds and directory listings offer zero skill validation, background screening, or customer safety guarantees, leading to frequent project abandonment, substandard work, and security concerns.

Lack of Standardized Artisan Qualification: Service providers operate without standardized credentials. The platform required a structured mechanism to onboard, verify identities (both individual craftsmen and corporate contractor entities), evaluate psychological work ethics, and assess hands-on technical competencies before dispatching jobs.

Fragile Field Coordination & Booking Lifecycles: Coordinating dispatch across disparate neighborhoods required real-time geo-spatial matching, dynamic quote estimation, and milestone tracking (arrival, diagnostics, execution, invoicing) resilient to intermittent mobile network reception.

Dedicated Service Provider Vetting & Qualification Portal (Next.js): Engineered an administrative and artisan portal featuring a mandatory multi-stage qualification pipeline. The system enforces national identity verification, residential address audits, psychometric aptitude evaluations, and discipline-specific technical examinations (plumbing diagnostics, electrical circuitry, HVAC safety) before technicians can unlock live dispatch feeds.

Real-Time Geo-Proximity Dispatch & Job Lifecycle Tracking: Implemented map-driven discovery and dispatch algorithms that pair customer service requests with nearby vetted technicians based on trade discipline, availability, and rating. The lifecycle engine guides technicians through discrete execution steps—from en-route transit tracking to photographic job completion logs.

Integrated Digital Wallet & Escrow Settlement Engine: Deployed an in-app digital wallet infrastructure that holds customer payments in escrow upon job dispatch and automatically disburses funds upon photographic verification and customer approval, paired with automated Mobile Money and bank cashout pipelines.
